April 3, 2009 - THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA UNVEILS THE MASKS OF DIVERSITY DURING ANNUAL DINNER
The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Pennsylvania (AACCCP) will be hosting their
17th Annual Awards Celebration on May 22, 2009 at the Hollywood Casino in Grantville, Pennsylvania
from 6pm – 9pm. The cost is $60/ticket or $550/table of 10. This year’s theme is: Unveiling the
Masks of Diversity.
The celebration recognizes distinguished community leaders, businesses and students in the Greater
Harrisburg Area. This year six awards will be given: Community Service, Minority Business and
Development, Cooperate Citizen, The President’s Executive Award, Senior Entrepreneur, and the Youth
Achievement Award.
This year’s Keynote Speaker is Dr. Kimetta R. Hairston, an Assistant Professor at Penn State
University – Harrisburg. Dr. Hairston comments, “Diversity in all aspects of society is essential
for everyone involved. The AACCCP is a wonderful organization that provides diversity, service and
commitment to the Harrisburg Community. I am grateful for the opportunity to share in this occasion.”

About Dr. Hairston:
Dr. Hairston received her degree from the University of Hawaii at Manao; with a focus on
qualitative research design, multicultural education, diversity and disability studies. Currently
her research interests are race, gender and integrating diversity into higher education curricula
and in the greater Harrisburg Community.
